Quick Mt. Baker Trip

The rumor was that water just “falls from the sky.” Since that hasn’t been the case lately, I went to find another source of continuous water: Mt. Baker. Approaching the base of the mountain, there was a small stream. The sound of it was very calming, unless you had your feet in it. If that was the case, you would be rather uncomfortable for a few minutes until your feet went numb, and then you would be calmed.

Farther up the mountain, there was a waterfall. It’s one of the few words in the English language that makes sense at face value. There’s water and it’s falling. Brilliant!

Coming closer still to the top of the mountain, the view become more and more impressive. There was scarcely time to stop for a photo.

Unfortunately, my made-to-climb-mountains vehicle was not quite able to reach the top. A barricade of solid snow prevented further travels. Though none was yellow, I felt a direct assault on the snow was a bad idea.

Surely farther up I would have found the magical source of continuous water, but I was unable to go on. I had to travel back down the mountain, and quickly, for fear that the Mountain God would cook me up and eat me (it is Mt. Baker after all).
