SafariStand and Safari Tidy plugin bug
Published August 9th, 2006 in Software, Web PagesI did a blog entry about markup validation plugins a little while back including the Safari Tidy plugin, which displays the webpage warnings/errors against validation in the bottom right corner of the browsers dynamically, so that each time you go to a new page, the information is updated. This is extremely valuable to web developers. The problem was that it caused problems with the SafariStand plugin.
SafariStand has quite a few features but the one that is truly amazing is dynamic source editting. In other words, you can go to any page on the net, edit the source, and view the results. This is extremely useful when testing pages and when collaborating with other developers. When combined with the Safari Tidy plugin, editting was limited to a single edit.
The solution is to go to Safari Preferences, Tidy (may have to use the right arrow toward the top), and in the View-source window section, disable “Show Tidy in the view-source window.” This fixes the single-edit bug and allows these two great plugins to cooperate nicely.
