If you’ve ever called any military or Veterans’ Affairs medical facility, you’ve probably heard the phrase “If this is a medical emergency, please hang up and dial 911 now.” Do people honestly call these numbers during medical emergencies expecting that, even though every time they call this number when it isn’t a medical emergency it can take hours, somehow calling a non-emergency number will be faster than 911? If so, are these people worth the annoyance they cause everyone else who uses these lame automated menus?
