I guess I really ought to just move all my sites away from Dreamhost. The last major issue was a typo that accidentally over-charged their customers by several million dollars. This time, they have shown that a typo can kill their entire datacenter, causing over an hour of downtime, but at least they realized that this is “High” severity this time. Apparently they somehow manage to have less checks and balances than the Bush Administration.

This coming week is going to be extremely busy for me, but things should start calming down after that. I will likely use that calm time to move all of my sites away from Dreamhost. I had planned on waiting until late April when my service with Dreamhost is due for rebilling in order to allow me to switch hosts and blogging systems at the same time, but the continual DH problems have convinced me that I should not wait any longer than necessary. Whatever I manage to screw up on my VPS is likely to be no worse than the typical Dreamhost error.
