    Ian,

    I’m not sure whether this comes under your category but I once worked for a firm which was a pioneer in putting inventory on the computer. They had sent people to the local community college to learn programming and they were programming. Unfortunately some of them were very lacking when it came to flowcharting.

    The program that calculated discounts to various customers was so convoluted that no one could really understand it. They just made the change that they thought would work and then ran some items through it to see what came out on the invoice.

    * Let’s do it and see what happens.
