This past Saturday, I went to the first varsity football game of the season for the high school where I am doing my teaching internship. I took about 250 photos, learning and relearning quite a bit about sports photography (since I’ve largely focused on landscapes and other mostly immobile objects in the past), but I haven’t really had a good chance to look through them all. In fact, I didn’t even do any digital editing to these besides cropping and shrinking. Someday I’ll have free time to do all that… someday…

Ian,
This is great. I know very little about football and most other sports but it is important for teachers to express interest in organized student activities. It makes you more of a “real” person to the students.
Keep up the good work.
Robert
The good thing about this game was that it was outside in the afternoon, so there was enough light to get decent photos without an expensive lens. My favorite sport is actually basketball, which will be a lot harder to shoot for.
I definitely agree with what you’re saying. Students see a lot of their teachers in class and that’s it, but it’s important to show an investment and an interest in the students and their futures.
