Over the past three nights I have focused on breaking down faces into individual components, so I could concentrate on details and make fine improvements. I started with they eyes and drew the top left pair Sunday night. I drew the other pair Monday night. Tuesday night I drew each of the noses. I feel like I picked up eyes pretty quickly, but I think I have quite a bit of improvement to do on the noses still.

The scanner obviously misses a lot of detail, but I am not too worried about it, since these are not finished masterpieces (though the random cat hair on the paper is a bit annoying). I think I may move on to mouths and ears soon and come back to noses a little later. Then I can try putting them all together and focus on placement, proportions, and the details that hold everything together. Oh, and I guess I should learn to do hair at some point too, since I don’t want to only draw bald people.
