After playing around with the charcoal, I decided to do a pencil drawing. At first, I couldn’t decide what to draw. I didn’t want to do a regular face, but I wanted to keep improving those skills, so I ended up going with a/the predator. As always, the scanner missed a lot of the details. It makes the top look as bright as the sun and the mouth looks like it’s all one gray blur (there is a lot of value variation in the actual drawing). Oh well, at least the image gives a general idea.
I had a lot of fun drawing this one, but I spent nearly four hours on it! I had a difficult time finding a reference, so I ended up using a screencap as a very loose reference, and I just used a lot of artist’s license. I’m very pleased with the end result. My recent practice on drawing eyes is very evident, but his eyes look rather human…. I am not really sure how they should look. I only remember that predators see infrared light, but I don’t remember what their eyes look like.
