Sketch Book 21: Sherlock Holmes Job Interview
0 Comments Published December 22nd, 2008 in Sketch BookI came up with a whole bunch of comic ideas quite a while back, but I never got around to trying to create any of them. I just couldn’t decide the medium that would be best. Well, I decided digital would be best, but I had no luck creating anything where the art was not so horribly bad that it ruined any joke involved. I didn’t want to do something detailed tonight (this morning?), so I tackled one of the comic ideas.
The proportions are off, the lettering is terrible (crooked, uneven, etc.), and there are a million other things I could point out, but I am glad I got it done. The Holmes depiction is obviously influenced by Sidney Paget, but certainly not as good as it should be. I essentially made up the character of Watson. I felt like he should have a beard, but I did not feel like drawing one, so he’s clean shaven. Holmes looks like someone hit his face with a baseball bat. And, on a side note, Firefox is telling me that “shaven” isn’t a word.
