I decided to do a quick sketch to try to get in an art mood tonight and decided that I really need to spend some time on hands, so that’s what I sketched. This is done with vine charcoal, and I have to admit that I love charcoal. I used to not like it very much because you really lose the ability to create the type of sharp details you can create with a 2H pencil, but I absolutely love the ability to create such strong contrasts now.
I spent maybe 20-30 minutes on this sketch, and it turned out reasonably well. The fingers are a bit short and stubby, and the positioning is a little off, but I think it turned out okay. Now, it’s time to eat some bratwursts.



Ian, I like pictures (photographs, drawings, paintings, etc.) that show the fingers (and hands). Keep working on this. The bratwurst might help. Robert
